Workshop Description: Being the only state in these United States to have a specific law surrounding discipline and termination, it is important to understand what that law means for you and your employees. In this session, we will discuss the law and best practices for employers to improve performance, maintain accountability,  and terminate properly.  We will also discuss best practices for drug and alcohol testing in Montana using our Workforce Drug and Alcohol Testing Act. A policy in your handbook is probably not enough to start testing, so we will discuss what a policy should include and who can be tested and for what. Join us!

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn To Properly Use Your Probationary Period to Your Benefit
  • Learn How Montana Law Helps You and Your Employees
  • 4 Main Forms of Discipline and When to Use Them
  • Documenting Issues and Discipline
  • Best Practices for Drug and Alcohol Testing in MT
